Code Club Bangladesh is set to host one of the largest national coding festivals for young students to showcase the new digital skills they are learning.
This national festival will run alongside the government’s annual National High School Programming Contest.
The children’s coding festival is being organised in cooperation with Dhaka University’s Computer Science Department and will take place between February and April 2017. More than 2000 schools across the 64 districts are expected to participate.
The participants must demonstrate their creativity by showcasing some amazing animations and games using the computer programming software Scratch.
These are then judged by academics and post-graduate students and industry sponsors and the regional winners will attend a grand final ceremony in Dhaka hosted by the ICT Minister and University of Dhaka.
The winners shall receive awards and prizes and will be offered the opportunity to attend a winners workshop to take their ideas forward.
